In the Kitchen with Polly

"It's all about the recipe!"

Author: Polly

It's all about the recipe. Really, it is. I have amassed quite a collection of recipes from my favorite cookbooks, food magazines, friends, the Internet, and more recently my adult daughters. I test every recipe I post. Some I've been cooking for years, decades even, a few I have made only a few times. I don't post mediocre recipes. I don't post good recipes. I post GREAT recipes. I started “In the Kitchen with Polly” on January 1, 2010, a joint venture between myself and my non-cooking but most excellent webmaster, proofreader, technical goddess and all-around bestie, Ratty. (Not a joke. Ratty is her chosen name. Her Mama didn’t do that to her, she did it to herself.) Last year we hit a snag. The website went up in flames. Monstrous flames. It took a long time to sort out what happened and even longer to recreate what was lost. Hundreds of pictures, gone, and every recipe we posted (300+) over the last 14 years had to be reformatted. It's done now though. I like this brighter version. Scroll through. Find something you like. There’s a search button and there are also tags to click on if you want to find a recipe for a specific food. If you need it, the print button is on the preview page and at the end of the recipe page. Enjoy! Let me know if you try something!

It was my turn to host book club tonight. The book was Ahab’s Wife, which I knew we had to discuss over a bowl of chowder and a slice of pie. Not having made Seafood Chowder before, I began a…

Blueberry Oatmeal Muffins

PollyJanuary 19, 2010August 18, 2025

Everyone seems to have a favorite blueberry muffin recipe, I do, too! For me, I think it’s the cup of oats and the just hidden hint of lemon that sets these blueberry muffins above all the others. I just made…

It's all about the recipe—really, it is! I have amassed quite a collection of recipes from my favorite cookbooks, food magazines, friends, the Internet, and more recently my adult daughters. When I find a recipe I LOVE, I can't wait to share it. I started In the Kitchen with Polly on January 01, 2010, a joint venture between myself and my non-cooking but most excellent webmaster, proofreader, technical goddess and all-around bestie, ratty (not a joke—ratty is her chosen nickname—her Mama didn’t do that to her, she did it to herself!).
